Update/Rename TSM Nodes

 

 

 

 



Workstation/Laptops

With workstation/laptop nodes, it is recommend that you cancel the old node and register for a new node.   This will allow for clean up of data backed up or archived, contact information, COAs and prevent any problem when going forward.  If this cannot be done then do the following:

  1. Send and email to ucbackup@berkeley.edu with the following information:
    • Tracking #
    • Old TSM Node Name
    • New TSM Node Name (if renaming and assuming the name is NOT already taken)
    • Operating System and Version
    • Reset Password - Yes or No
    • Delete existing backups/Archives - Yes or No
      NOTE: If platform also changing then the filespace will be automatically delete.
                  Once the existing backup/archives are delete they cannot be recovered. 
    • User's Name
    • User's email
    • Tech email
    • Backup Schedule preference

  2. Once the above is done and UCBackup sends a confirmation of the change then goto the Shopping Cart to update your account information with:  
    • New node name.
    • COA.

    NOTE:  UCBackup cannot update this information in the Shopping Cart and you may need to request that the Node Name be updated at the same time the COA if it is an intra department change.
