UCBackup Reports







UCBackup will send the following types of reports out to users and technical contact:

  1. Daily Reports.    

    There are 2 types of Daily reports which are sent daily for a 24 hour period:
    1. Daily Missed/Failed will report on any failed or missed backup scheduled events.  
      This is enabled for all technical contacts for all new registration unless otherwise requested.  

    2. Daily Summary will report on the status of all nodes belonging to the same Technical Contact's email address.  This option is only available to servers. 

    The Daily Report can only be email to one Technical Contact.    

  2. Weekly Reports.  

    There are 2 types of Weekly Reports which reports on scheduled events for the last 7 days for all nodes:
    1. Weekly Report for Users.

      This report will be a status summary of all nodes registered to this user.   This is sorted by the user's name as entered in to our database (John Doe and John A. Doe are not consider to be the same person).   If a user opts NOT to have this report then it will still be sent only if there is a *WARNING* and no Technical Contact.  

    2. Weekly Report for Technical Contact.  

      This report is similar to the above but is a summary of ALL nodes support by technical contact sorted by their email address.   A technical contact CANNOT opt out of this report.  Please note that john.tech@berkeley.edu and john.tech@ls.berkeley.edu are not consider to be the same person.

  3. Monthly Reports

    See Weekly Reports but this will be sent on Monthly bases and will include usage/occupancy information.  


NOTES:  
  • Click on the report type to see a sample.  
  • UCBackup can ONLY hold 1 email address for the Technical and User Contacts.
  • If you would like these reports to be sent to multiple email addresses then please create a email list and supply that to us.
  • Information update done via the Shopping Cart will not filter down to this system and likewise the information updated in the backup system will not change the account in the Shopping Cart. 
  • For Users would like the Daily Reports and have a technical contact, please contact them first about creating an email list for this report as it may either generate more email for them or remove your node from their report.   UCBackup will NOT create or maintain email list for you. 
  • *WARNING* will only occur if any node belonging to the same user has 7 missed/failed backup events or have not accessed the backup server in over 7 days.  
  • Usage/occupancy will not be included in the Weekly Reports.  
  • Multiple or duplicate reports may be email to the same user if the email address is listed in both user and tech fields and if User has requested reports. 
  • If the 1st of the month does NOT fall on Saturday then you can receive a separate email for weekly and monthly reports.  
  • Renamed or canceled nodes may still appear on the Monthly/Weekly reports for 1 week. 
  • If you need to update the information for these node please send an email to ucbackup@berkeley.edu with the following information:
    • Tracking Number
    • TSM Node Name
    • Primary User's Name
    • Primary User's Email
    • Weekly Reports to User - Yes or No
    • Technical Contact's Email
    • Daily Reports to Tech Only - Yes or No

      Please remember that updating information with UCBackup will not update the account information in the CNS shopping cart or vice versa.
